KICK is an acronym for Kisumu Innovation Centre Kenya. KICK started as a company limited that took over from the NGO in 2005 and now employs over 83 artisans directly; 57 male and 26 female. KICK is a social enterprise that works with the youth, women and young men in Kisumu – Kenya to recycle, reuse and innovate concepts around environmental sustainability.
KICK has been privileged to among other things; provide an environmentally sustainable solution for cremating the Late Nobel Laureate Prof. Wangari Maathai. We also won the SEED Initiative award (see link: https://www.seed.uno/ ) in 2011. An award now announced annually targeting green businesses and sponsored by UNEP, UNDP and IUCN.

To provide the youth, women and young men in Kisumu-Kenya with economically and environmentally sustainable jobs.
A social Enterprise which markets craft products made by local artisans using recycled materials and invasive species from the wetlands around Lake Victoria.
After ten years of successful business, We have been able to among other things;
– Structure a production and logistics line guaranteeing timely delivery of quality products.
– Designed a product appealing to the market.
– Developed a commercial network of clients in Europe, Australia and USA.
– Generated incomes which support at least 100 families directly and over 500 families indirectly.
